news discussion

Quill:Hi ,is there any one? Charlotte:hi, here I am. Ruby:Haha,i am ruby~ Roxanne:hi, everyone:) Quill:ok,let’s discuss this news~ Roxanne:okok Ruby:I think it’s the issue about religion. Charlotte:yes,I agree. Quill:as we know, the people in middle east are really religious. Roxanne:yeah, and there are many taboos in their religion. Ruby:hmm, for example? Charlotte:ummm, they are not allowed to eat pork. Quill:and…you know, the women in Muslim countries are not allowed to reveal their faces. Ruby:Oh~Thank god i am not living in the Middle East but Taiwan, i can show my beautiful face and body~ Roxanne:oh, disgusted!! Charlotte: haha , shame on you! Roxanne:but I think that the teacher in this article had noting to do with Muhammad…and Ms. Hussein thought so. Ruby:yes,I think the Sudan government took that too serious Charlotte:yah~I think they have to distinguish education from religion. Quill:yes~ And I think that the teacher was innocent, and that she did the mistake accidentally. Roxanne:I think if there is someone to be blamed for, it should not be the teacher, but her pupils. Ruby:uhh, but I think the kids were too young to know the dos and don’ts. Roxanne:but we cannot let the teacher take all responsibilities, all we have to do is to teach the kids, that’s all. Charlotte:yeah, the teacher shouldn’t have been imprisoned. How poor she is!! Quill:anyway,I consider the government should strike a balance between the malicious words and innocent mistake. Roxanne:that makes me think of literary persecution. Ruby:it seems a terrible thing Charlotte:I guess I won't talk anything from now on. Quill:ha ha~We stay in Taiwan. And people have lots of freedom.Don't worry. Roxanne:That's right. Compared to those people in the Middle East.We are much luckier. Ruby:Don't worry Charlotte. You can talk whatever you want in this chatroom. Charlotte:HaHa ~Ok Ok Roxxanne:Taiwan has much freedom~We are so lucky Quill: But finally the teacher was innocent. Roxanne: They were nice judges Ruby:She didn't do anything wrong. Charlotte:People there were really really sensitive. Quill:They just make a fuss about it Roxanne:Maybe we can't say that because we don't totally understand their culture background. Ruby:It makes sense. Charlotte:I am really afraid that World War Three is going happen TOMORROW Quill:How stupid you are, Charlotte~No wonder you look so blue recently. Roxanne:HaHa~ Don't think too much Ruby:We are all peace-keeper. If the war will break out, don't leave me alone Charlotte:We must run away together Quill:oh~I don't want talk to you guys. You are really idiot.I have to leave this chatroom.See you. Roxanne:Is Quill angry? Ruby:I don't know. I have to do other homework.Bye. Charlotte:Bye,love you. This is a funny homework!!We should discuss more often~ Ruby:yah~ If you don't afaid world war three~

Sharing Time!!!!

The news was about the water pollution in a Chinese village. The red river in the small village has been polluted from a 35 miles away nationally-owned company, which resulted in many problems about health and environment.
In the article, China has been projected by the International Energy Association to become the world’s leading greenhouse gases producing country this year. In addition, the pollution also brought about the lower exports of agricultural products and seafood.
The small village couldn’t against the big company that might be polluting their air or water. And the mine company just offered a small amount of compensation for those victims. Although Chinese government has tried to find some solutions to solve this problem, it seems that this is not a problem which can be solved overnight.
But whatever the measurements are, it is too late for those families who had already lost their beloved. The widow in the article said that, all she worries about is raising her daughter and her plot of land. Although they used the clean water of the nearby mountain, they still use the dirty water to irrigate the crops.

Some people cannot live without cell phones and they can feel the vibration even cell phones do not in their pockets. There are few researches but lots of theories about this phenomenon. First, cell phones become parts of some users’ limb, so once cell phones are away from them they feel strange. Second, cell phones help people to connect to the society, once they are away from cell phones they feel that they are isolated or rejected and then become anxious. Because of these two basic reasons, people have this new tech irritation which is phantom vibration.

Computers and Girls

1.URL
http://literacynet.org/cnnsf/computergirls/storyweek.html

2.Summary
The researchers indicate that women might have less job opportunities than men. They did sum up some accounts for that. First, girls think their ability in computer is miserable, so they have little or even no interest learning it. Next, girls seldom use computer to solve problems, but process word. Last, girls have no courage to use computers for fear to break them somehow. This is a serious issue for girls nowadays. If girls do not try to learn computers, the gender gap of technology will grow and women would less have job opportunities than men.

3.my thoughts and reflections
I think this news is quite important for me because it mentioned me the importance of computer skill. I used to take computer for granted and do not want to learn and understand it, but now I really want to be proficient at it. I gradually realize that computer will take place human is a fact and we can not deny it. Though they are cold, they do more accurate than people. So, no matter what kind of job I will take, I will definitely need a computer to help me. Now I have made up my mind to make friend with my dear computer, and I will try my best to get along with it!
